This page is to list all of the COVID-19 Initiatives and Resources that we have found, or that our members have alerted us to. If you know of any other resources that we are missing, or if your company is offering any please get in touch with us on info@ai3sd.org.

Initiatives

COVID Moonshoot
Follow these links to get involved:

Scientists on Standby
An initiative to create a real-time network of volunteer overflow scientists, labs and other partners that can work together to help meet the testing needs of hospitals and other healthcare providers: https://www.scientistsonstandby.com/

UKCRC TDCC is coordinating access to samples
The UKCRC Tissue Directory and Coordination Centre looks to create a networked biobanking infrastructure to facilitate the discovery and use of the UK’s human samples and data. UKCRC TDCC are helping coordinate efforts to connect researchers on COVID-19 with the samples that they need. Find out more here: https://biobankinguk.org/covid-19/

Dataset Resources

Adapted Diamond Dataset – Dr Chris Swain
This is the Diamond COVID-19 Dataset with both binders and non-binders that has been adapted by Dr Chris Swain from Cambridge MedChem Consulting. Chris downloaded all the structures to date, both those that bind and those where no binding was observed and put them into a single file; he also added inChiKey, SMILES, PubCHem ID, PDB ID of ligand if known and a range of other identifiers from different databases. This dataset can be found on our website here: http://www.ai3sd.org/resources/data-resources/diamondcoronavirusdataset

eMolecules is offering free access to their datasets for researchers working on COVID-19
eMolecules is a company that curates datasets of all commercially available compounds. They are offering free data access and a number of other free services to any researcher working on COVID-19. If you are interested in taking advantage of this offer please click here or email info@emolecules.com. See their newsletter for more details.

  • Access to our complete screening compound database that contains almost 11M compounds that are available for rapid screening against any targets
  • Access to an experienced group of chemists who can help you refine your selections and provide help and advice on how to use our data
  • Access to an experienced group of purchasing specialists who can help you source any materials you are interested in

COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19) – Allen Institute for AI
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Allen Institute for AI has partnered with leading research groups to prepare and distribute the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19), a free resource of over 47,000 scholarly articles, including over 36,000 with full text, about COVID-19 and the coronavirus family of viruses for use by the global research community.

IBM Dataset
IBM have released a new dataset to help researchers generate potential new drug candidates for COVID-19. They have applied novel AI generative frameworks to three COVID-19 targets and have generated ~3000 molecules which are shared here: https://covid-19-mol.mybluemix.net/

Software Resources

Molecule.one is offering free access to their synthetic accessibility screening (SAS) for teams working on COVID-19
Molecule.one provides software that designs ways to make organic molecules. They have released free access to Molecule.one’s synthetic accessibility screening (SAS) for every team involved in developing potential treatments and cures for COVID-19. They encourage teams working on de novo small molecule drug discovery to get in touch and start using their platform to validate their ideas. If you are working on drug design for COVID-19 and would like to quickly verify the synthesizability of your molecules, please get in touch. You can do so by emailing them at covid19@molecule.one.  Please see their press release for more details.

Online Platforms

UKRI Hub
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has launched this Coronavirus Hub to provide the latest information about UKRI’s work in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

International Science Council Online Science Hub
The International Science Council has launched an online hub for scientific commentary and analysis on responses to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic from its community of members and partners: https://council.science/covid19/

HECBioSim
This is an online resource hosting up-to-date links for COVID-19 related research that falls within the bimolecular modelling and simulation umbrella. They are looking to help coordinate efforts to maximise efficiency by bringing together people, projects and resources: http://www.hecbiosim.ac.uk/covid-19

BIA
This is a site that provides key information on the COVID-19 situation for BIA member companies and the life sciences sector: https://www.biacovid19.org/

Research

National Institute for Health Research
NIHR has established a single, national prioritisation process for COVID-19 research to prevent duplication of effort: https://www.nihr.ac.uk/covid-19/
